The Want Mindset

One of the main difference between successful people and average people is that successful often possess a want mindset while average people possess a don’t want mindset.

Successful people tend to see things as opportunities while average people see everything as a threat.

A want and a don’t want mindset is just separated by a fine line. It isn’t even a do or don’t do. It’s just switching our mind to think differently.

And by doing so, that’ll eventually determine if you’ll become successful or not.

Work is sacred. It is a channel for us to inspire others and make people’s lives better. It is a way to allow us to bring value to others. Without work, the meaningfulness of life will decrease quite drastically.

Unfortunately, most people see their work as a burden and just a mean of getting a paycheck to pay their bills. Else, how do you explain the existence of TGIF?

Work does not mean the conventional 8 to 5 job that most people are engaged in. It can also be your own work. Your art. Your business. That thing you do that you’re so passionate about and also build an income from.

It is not about your 8 to 5, but your 5 to 8. Do you work anytime during your “5 to 8”? When you do, it means that nobody is “forcing” you to work. You work on your own accords. And that is doing it right. Do you do your work on Saturday and Sunday, while everyone is spending their time on leisure and entertainment? If you do, great.

When we are capable of working during those non-conventional work hours, it is a proof that we are doing something that is really meaningful to us. And we must continue to do it.

I hope that someday, you will be happily unemployed. You need to ask yourself what do you love to do. And slowly work towards building it so great that someday, you will have the liberty to let your “full-time job” go.

Start a Journal

Why do we take photos when we go on a holiday? To keep a record, a memory, of the moment.

But why don’t we keep a record of our everyday? Our thoughts, our experiences, our ideas, our dreams, our imaginations, our heartaches, our struggles, our success, etc.

Everyday is a blessing. Yes, everyday. Everyday is an opportunity for us to move closer to achieving a more meaningful, successful, and happier life.

I encourage you to start a journal. I believe that if something is important, it deserves to be written down. If you’re not recording down your day to day happenings, does it mean that your life is somewhat lacking in importance. After all, most people choose ignorance to mask the lack of meaning they are experiencing in their lives.

Writing a journal also helps you to live your life in a more intentional way.

I think our conventional work is undesirable. The 9 to 5 kind.

I think if given a choice, nobody would want to work. But that doesn’t mean we do not want to work at all. We simply want choices.

Choice of the things we do. Choice of our compensation. Choice of working hours. Choice of how we organize our job.

You may say you are okay with your work. Okay is not okay. Okay is a sign of resignation to your circumstances.

Work is sacred. It is a channel for us to bring value to others. It is also a important route we take to achieve meaning in life.

Money Is…

Money is food.

Money is water.

Money is electricity.

Money is transportation.

Money is shelter.

Money is relative comfort.

Money is security and protection.

Money is education.

Money is clothing.

Money is personal hygiene.

Money is evil, that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

Without money, you will be constantly be under the threat of being exploited of your time, your freedom, and yes, your money.
