The Pleasure of Writing a Journal

Writing a journal is truly one of the most pleasurable activities one can engage in.

In our day to day lives, we talk to others a lot. But we rarely have the chance to talk to ourselves.

Writing down our thoughts, our ideas, our problems, our imaginations, and our inspirations, gives us that chance to be honest with ourselves.

We always enjoy spending time with our best friends but we don’t realize that most of the time, we are our own best friends.

Writing gives us an opportunity to lighten the burden in our head as well. And it also gives us a chance to reflect and assess about the positivity and negative thoughts that constantly appear in our mind.

An Employee

Is there anything wrong with wanting to remain as an employee? No, no, no. There are so many meaningful and highly paid jobs in our society. So, what’s the problem?

The problem happens when people who do not want to remain as an employee, continue to remain as one. The problem is when people who wants to get out of their current employment status, but find themselves stuck, usually due to their financial obligations, which I find is one of the saddest thing that can happen to anybody that is full of ambitions and creativity.

Around the world, there are just too many people belonging to the latter. They are stuck for so long that most of them have even resigned to fate. They have given up the idea of getting out of being just an employee. If given a choice, who would like to have to ask for permission from their bosses if they do not wish to work on certain days and time? If given a choice, who would want to go to office five days a week, 52 weeks a year?

Life is too meaningful to be lived in this manner. How hard we work, how long we work, should be determined by the level of passion we have in us. Our work should be guided by our own responsibility towards the people who are counting on it. Work should not be spending eight or nine hours a day in our cubicles. Work should be working one hour if you think is enough, or working 24 hours if you could.

But is this even possible? Of course! The dream of doing something that you find deep meaning and passion can become a reality in the future only if you start to become serious about your life, finding out about your true purpose, and working long and hard to ensure that whatever success you desire comes true.

Lack of Motivation

One of the most common problems we have is a lack of motivation.

When we are lacking in motivation, we simply can’t find the strength to pull ourselves up, to get what needs to be done, done.

One of the best ways to overcome lack of motivation is to remind ourselves of the purpose we even began with. If the purpose is strong enough, then we will find the power to get moving again.

A lack of motivation is, after all, an obstacle. Obstacles are meant to be overcome, not stop us.

Investing

Most people would see the main benefit of investing is to increase one’s wealth. That is true. However, beside increasing one’s wealth, there’s other benefits to investing.

People who invest automatically activate their eye to see in terms of long-term. All successful people are visionaries. This simply means that they see far. They have a clear vision of what they want to achieve and the journey it takes to reach their goals.

This is something that is found lacking in average people. Average people are always looking for instant gratification.

Investing also activates the positivity in you. Pessimist rarely invest. After all, the future seemed all doom and gloom. And to be able to maintain a positive mood internally is one of the most important traits successful people have.

Thirdly, investing teaches us to be disciplined. While others spend their money on fun and food. You have to put them diligently aside to be invested for the future. It is hard to be successful if we aren’t disciplined.

Fourthly, when we invest, we learn how to identify opportunities. In our day to day lives, we are seldom given the chance to do so.

Last but not least, investing means that you have to put your money where your mouth is. Average people talk a lot but do very little. Why? Because doing is tough. Doing has consequences that few are willing to experience.
