If you want to be successful, you must be a leader. More importantly, you must possess the mindset of a leader.
A leader is proactive. If an activity is crucial to achieving his objectives, he will be the first to do it. He doesn’t need others to push him to do. He will do it. He will not be, like most people, look left and right, up and down, hoping that nobody notices him. He will just stand up and say, “Count on me.”
A leader is courageous. What’s between him and his goals are doubts and an arduous path but he will not let fear stop him. He will say to his team, “Just follow me.”
A leader inspires. He don’t just aim to get the job done. Getting the job done is in fact just the basic requirement. He is like King Leonidas leading his men of 300 to battle the massive army of 300,000 Persians. Even against insurmountable odds, he has the ability to motivate and turn his men into lions.
A leader doesn’t need the validation of others to lead. He is confident with his ability and to lead is his best and only way to help the team succeed, and lead he will, regardless of who likes it or not.
A leader is one who, if the game comes down to the wire, will say, “Winning shot or losing shot just give me the damn ball!”
