20,000 Hours

After deducting our sleep time, most of us still have a solid 8 to 16 hours a day for us to work on our success.

That would be equivalent to an average of more than 4,000 hours a year. And in 10 years, you would have invested a total of 40,000 hours to your success.

Even if you are only able to achieve half the time, you will still significantly exceed Malcolm Gladwell’s recommendation of 10,000 hours for work and practice for anyone who is serious about achieving massively successful.

But 20,000 hours just seem to be too unrealistic, isn’t it?

Unfortunately, people tend to have a misconception that in order to become massively successful, they need to contribute insane amount of hours doing things that they hate. The truth is that it doesn’t always have to be that way.

Imagine yourself spending 20,000 hours on doing the things that you are passionate about. Imagine yourself spending 20,000 hours on building your dreams, connecting with people who share a common interest with you, and even earning a comfortable living from it.

Yes, you definitely can. But only if you start immediately. Start thinking and identifying the passions that you have. What are the things that you’ve always wanted to do since you were young but simply don’t have the courage to start. When you invest such huge amount of time on your passion, success becomes inevitable.

Never, ever, let anyone or any circumstances stop you from pursuing the things that you are passionate about. We must realize that we only have one life, and it is too much of a pity to spend it on doing things that are not serving our true purposes.
