One of the reasons why most people don’t achieve their desires is that their desires lack intensity.
Everybody wants success. For example, everyone wants to become rich. But their desire simply ends there. If you ask them what if they fail at becoming rich, they will be unable to give you an answer.
If they don’t achieve their desired success, there’s no pain at all. If you want to achieve your goals, you must be able to clearly differentiate intense desire from plain desire.
When you have intense desires, you constantly think about them day and night. They are the first things you think about when you wake up and the last things you think about before you fall asleep.
When you have intense desires, you are willing to give up everything to achieve them. When you have intense desires to work towards, there’s no 8 to 5, there’s no work-life balance, and there’s no “I won’t work on weekends”. When you have intense desires, even your kids and wife become secondary.
When you have intense desires, you set goals, make plans, and take concrete actions towards achieving them.
Most people have desires, but not intense desires. If you truly want to become successful, then you should start thinking about what your intense desires truly are.
