Contrary to popular belief, the answer is “yes”, we can do more than one thing at a time.
If we have the ability to have the laser focus of a robot, then doing just one thing at a time is more beneficial. Why? That is because we can put all our time, energy, and resources into that one task. And ultimately, we will achieve massive success from it. After all, Warren Buffett once said, “Diversification may preserve wealth, but concentration builds wealth”.
Unfortunately, we are not robots. We are human beings and human beings have varying emotions. Over time, we tend to get fatigue. We tend to become bored. We might be tempted to switch our interests. Or we could simply burn out or get sick of the things we are doing and give them up totally.
As humans, we should give ourselves the allowance to explore. And by doing more than one thing at a time, we are able to do just that. When we allow ourselves to do the multiple things that we are interested in, we also give ourselves opportunities to love and understand ourselves better.
So go out and start doing the things that you love. Start a business. Learn a skill. Write a blog. Create a YouTube channel. Start a podcast.
At the end of the day, we may just find out the one thing, among all, that we favor the most.
